Football in Ladakh

Ladakh Football Association (LFA), founded in 2019, is the governing body for football in UT Ladakh and is affiliated with the All-India Football Federation (AIFF). The FA oversees all aspects of the organised game, both amateur and professional, and is in charge of national competitions such as the Ladakh Futsal League and Ladakh Super League, which result in clubs qualifying for national club championships.

LFA is also responsible for preparing teams for representing UT Ladakh at national level like senior men’s championship, Santosh Trophy etc.

Strategic Goals 2030: To build a FIFA standard football infrastructure in Ladakh UT.

  • Establish district-level (Leh & Kargil) professional state league for men & women.
  • Establish village-level youth league for boys & girls under 12, 14, 16 & 18th Age Groups.
  • Establish a Coach & Referee training centre at the block level.
  • Establish national-level senior, junior & sub junior boys & girls’ team.
